What to expect:
This Profitraining class is designed to strengthen and prepare the body for professional dance practices. The class begins with group conditioning, using the energy of training alongside peers to build strength, stability, and endurance.
Following the warm-up, we move into technical sequences that focus on precision, coordination, and clarity of qualities. These sequences explore spatial awareness and dynamic contrasts, providing dancers with tools to expand their range and control.
This training emphasizes disciplined, mindful practice, helping dancers develop a strong, flexible, and responsive body ready for diverse performance situations, while also fostering a sense of connection and energy through shared group exercises.
Biography:
Juan Camilo Rojas Arévalo is a Colombian dancer, choreographer, and educator based in Germany. He holds a degree in Performing Arts with a specialization in contemporary dance and works across performance, pedagogy, and movement research. His artistic practice explores flow, sequentiality, dissociation, and fragmentation, connecting physical expression with emotional awareness. Since moving to Germany, he has collaborated with institutions such as Frankfurt Opera, Tanzmainz, Wiesbaden Oper, and Köln Oper, while teaching contemporary dance at TanzRaum Mainz and working with DanceNexus Wiesbaden. He is also the founder of La Toma del Espacio, a dance initiative in Colombia focused on community, creation, and body awareness.
